Popular Front has SIMI relations: Govt

Kochi: The govt told the HC that the Popular Front has links with the banned outfit SIMI. The govt gave this clarification when hearing a petition requesting permission to conduct freedom parades. In the affidavit submitted to the court, it stated that Popular Front have connections in 27 murder cases.
The functioning of the Popular Front would pose greater risk to the integrity and security of the nation. The affidavit was submitted based on the report by the Intelligence ADGP report.
Popular Front filed a plea seeking permission to conduct freedom parades in 4 places during Independence Day. The outfit sought permission to hold the parades in Koyilandy, Ponnani, Erattupetta and Kollam.
